Individual therapy for adults and teens.
I've been a clinical social worker for 30 years. I spent the first few years working with teen boys and their families in a residential program with Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and then continued my work with teens and families at The Kellar School. After that I joined Northern Virginia Psychiatric Group as a clinician and later also as an owner, where I expanded my practice to include couples work after getting advanced training in Imago Relationship Therapy. I remained a clinician there for 20 years until 2019, when I opened my current solo practice. I see clients age 14 and older, including older adults. I've worked with clients who are in treatment for a variety of reasons, including relationship problems, workplace problems, learning disabilities and ADHD, anxiety, depression, other mood disorders including bipolar, thought disorders, autism spectrum disorder and substance use disorder.
We can talk for 15 minutes so you can get an initial introduction to who I am and what I do, and you can see if I am a good fit for you. If you decide to schedule a first session, we will set up a one-hour intake meeting.
I'll ask you questions, you'll tell me why you reached out and what you are looking to gain from our meetings, and we will begin developing a treatment plan to meet your goals.
I'll share my ideas of what approach would work best for you. We will talk about why I chose that approach for you. I'll offer additional recommendations as well, if appropriate.
